Under Construction

What's It Like?

Welcome to the Bellaire Community UMC.  We want you to feal right at home with us.  We hope this will give you some of an idea what to expect when you choose to worship with us.

As our guest we won’t put you on the spot; you will not have to stand up in the middle of worship, have everyone look at you and tell us where you live.  We just want you to feel comfortable and right at home.
  • Pastor Carl's talks take about fifteen minutes during worship.  He tries to avoid churchy language, focuses on the scripture and what it says about how to live the faith and experience change in our lives.  You’re not going to be condemned or judged during worship, but hopefully you will be challenged.
  • The rest of worship is singing and praying and sometimes a tiny bit of interaction.  The style and the number of songs is dependant on which service you attend.
  • Usually, worship lasts about an hour, often a bit longer, especially on Communion Sunday.
  • Holy Communion is commonly offered on the first Sunday of each month.  The United Methodist Church practices an open Communion Table.  This means everyone who is willing to receive is welcome to be included.
  • A Sunday School class for children happens during the worship service after the Children's Moment when we have a single service; between the services when we offer two.  The children’s class meets upstairs in the large classroom in the education wing behind the sanctuary.
  • Refreshments are provided by volunteers after worship. It is a wonderful time to share our lives and ministry.
