What's It Like?

Bellaire Community UMC offers two different styles of worship. Click here for a description and schedule of each one.

  • As our guest you won’t have to stand up in the middle of worship, have everyone look at you and tell us where you live.
  • Pastor Cark talks about fifteen minutes during worship. He tries to avoid churchy language, and focuses on the scripture and what it says about how to live the faith and have our lives changed now. You’re not going to be condemned or judged during worship, but hopefully you will be challenged.
  • The rest of worship is singing and praying. The style and the number of songs is dependant on which worship you attend.
  • Usually, worship lasts about an hour, occasionally less time, sometimes longer (up to an hour and fifteen minutes).
  • Communion service is normally offered on the first Sunday of each month.
  • Refreshments are provided by volunteers after the 8:30 a.m. worship. It is a wonderful time to share our lives and ministry.
  • We want to encourage people worshiping early to stay for fellowship and Sunday School following the service.
  • We also want to encourage people who attend the 11:00 service to come early, enjoy the fellowship time and the Sunday School.
  • Sunday school classes for all ages begin at 9:45 a.m.  Adults meet in the Chapel Room, downstairs near the Fellowship Hall. The children’s class meets upstairs in the large classroom in the education wing behind the sanctuary.
